The little town of Forte dei Marmi, renown for its charm, is the summer residence of many leading figures in the world of fashion, show business and sport, who live there in their beautiful villas; Pietrasanta, regarded by many as a "little Athens" for its profuse works of art, and beloved by the greatest sculptors, painters and artists who have enriched it with unique works of great importance accomplished during their stays; Viareggio, renown not only for its inimitable Carnival and allegoric floats, but also for its beaches and seafront promenade strewn with shops and exclusive restaurants famous for their specialties of fish caught in the local waters, where fishing has maintained a crucial role. Seravezza and Stazzema, immersed in the Parco delle Apuane, an area scattered by little villages and hamlets, which make an ideal destination for hikers. Amongst the many sites is the so called "Antro del Corchia", the biggest cave in Europe open to visitors, a prominent tourist attraction with a strong geological interest. Last but not least, the town of Camaiore, with its characteristic farms surrounded by the countryside.
